Alterotopia: a new collaborative project!

As of spring 2024 I’ve embarked on an exciting collaborative project with Flor Avelino that brings together my artistic, activist and philosophical passion. Our project is still in its early phases, but we can already share a teaser. It will take you to a single webpage you can scroll down, with various artworks along the way.

Alterotopia will evolve through creative encounters with and in places of change. It has emerged from one such encounter: between the artistic practice of Marijke de Pous and the activist academic practice of Flor Avelino. Apart from finding resonance in the content of each other’s work, we share a passion to gain insight from paradoxical thinking, to address the deeply rooted troubles and injustices of our time, combined with a celebratory appreciation of the joys and beauty of life.
