Alterotopia: a new collaborative project!

As of spring 2024 Flor Avelino and I have started collaborating on a new project and website called Alterotopia. The project is still in its early phases, but we can already share a teaser. It will take you to a single webpage you can scroll down, with various artworks along the way.

Alterotopia will be the second iteration of two practices coming together: my artistic practice and the activist and academic practice of Flor Avelino. Apart from finding resonance in the content of each others work, we share a passion to gain insight and strength from paradoxical thinking, an alter-political desire to respond to the deeply rooted troubles and injustices of our times, and last but not least, a joyous appreciation of the wonders and beauty of life.

With Alterotopia we want to deepen our sense of what is at stake in our practices and explore the radical potential of this type of collaboration. Our hope is that Alterotopia will become the home of many other creative encounters at the intersections of art, research and activism.  A place to share the audio, visual and written work that these encounters inspire, and an invitation to reflect and learn from the practices and methods we will experiment with.
